Return & Refund Policy

At HappyShelf, customer satisfaction is our priority. We strive to ensure that every order is delivered accurately and in good condition. This Return & Refund Policy explains the conditions, process, and timelines for returns, replacements, exchanges, cancellations, and refunds.

This Policy applies only to orders delivered within India.

1. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return, replacement, or refund, the product must:
  • Be in its original condition.
  • Be unused, unwashed, and undamaged (unless received damaged or defective).
  • Include the original packaging, tags, manuals, accessories, and any free gifts supplied with the product.
  • Be accompanied by proof of purchase (order confirmation or invoice).
  • Comply with the conditions of this Policy.
HappyShelf reserves the right to reject any return request that does not satisfy these requirements.


2. Reporting Timeframe
All requests relating to:
  • Damaged products
  • Defective products
  • Wrong products received
  • Missing items or accessories
  • Empty package claims
  • Replacement requests
  • Refund requests must be reported within 48 hours of successful delivery.
Requests submitted after 48 hours may not be accepted unless otherwise required under applicable law.


3. Mandatory Unboxing Video
To protect both our customers and our business from fraudulent claims, a continuous, unedited unboxing video is mandatory for all claims involving:
  • Damaged products
  • Defective products
  • Wrong products
  • Missing items
  • Empty package claims
  • The video must:
  • Start before the package is opened.
  • Clearly show the shipping label.
  • Clearly show the unopened outer packaging.
  • Record the complete opening process without interruption.
  • Clearly display the product and its condition.
Claims submitted without the required unboxing video or sufficient supporting evidence may be rejected.

4. Return Process
To initiate a return or replacement request, please contact our Customer Support and provide:
  • Order number
  • Customer name
  • Reason for the request
  • Product photographs
  • Packaging photographs (where applicable)
  • Mandatory unboxing video (where applicable)
After reviewing your request, HappyShelf will inform you whether your claim has been approved.
If approved, we will provide the appropriate return instructions and the designated return address (if a return is required).
Please do not send any product without prior approval from HappyShelf. Unauthorized returns may not be accepted.

5. Damaged, Defective, Incorrect or Missing Products
If you receive:
  • A damaged product
  • A defective product
  • An incorrect product
  • A product with missing accessories or parts
  • An empty package
Please report the issue within 48 hours of delivery with the required photographs and mandatory unboxing video.
After verification, HappyShelf may, at its sole discretion:
  • Replace the product,
  • Exchange the product (subject to availability), or
  • Issue a full or partial refund, where appropriate.

6. Exchange Policy
Eligible products may be exchanged for:
  • The same product, or
  • Another product of similar value (subject to availability).
  • Exchange requests are subject to:
  • Product availability.
  • Successful verification of the claim.
  • Compliance with this Policy.
If a replacement product is unavailable, HappyShelf may offer a refund instead.

7. Refund Process
Once your claim has been verified and approved:
  • Refunds for prepaid orders will be credited to the original payment method.
  • Cash on Delivery (COD) refunds will be processed through UPI or bank transfer after receiving the required payment details.
Approved refunds are generally processed within 7–10 business days.
The actual time required for the amount to appear in your account depends on your bank or payment service provider.

8. Non-Returnable Products
Unless required by applicable law, the following products are generally not eligible for return or refund:
  • Products damaged due to misuse or improper handling after delivery.
  • Products that have been used, washed, altered, or damaged by the customer.
  • Products returned without original packaging or accessories.
  • Customized or personalized products.
  • Perishable goods.
  • Personal care, hygiene, cosmetic, beauty, grooming, innerwear, swimwear, or similar products once opened or used.
  • Gift cards or digital products (if offered).
  • Products marked as Non-Returnable, Final Sale, or Non-Refundable on the product page.

9. Return Shipping Costs
If the return is approved because:
  • The wrong product was delivered,
  • The product arrived damaged,
  • The product is defective,
  • Required parts or accessories are missing,
HappyShelf will arrange return pickup where available or reimburse reasonable return shipping charges.
If a return is accepted for any reason other than our error, the customer will be responsible for the return shipping costs unless otherwise stated on the product page.

10. Order Refusal
Customers are advised to inspect the package before accepting delivery.
If a package is refused without a valid reason (such as visible shipping damage), the shipment may be returned.
Where permitted by applicable law:
  • Original shipping charges may not be refundable.
  • Return shipping costs and other reasonable expenses incurred may be deducted from the refundable amount.

11. Cancellation Policy
Orders may be cancelled before they are processed for shipment.
Once an order has been processed or shipped, cancellation may not be possible.
HappyShelf also reserves the right to cancel any order due to:
  • Pricing errors
  • Stock unavailability
  • Suspected fraudulent activity
  • Technical errors
  • Legal or regulatory requirements
If payment has already been received, the applicable refund will be processed promptly.

12. Limitation of Responsibility
HappyShelf operates as an online retail platform and arranges the sourcing and fulfillment of products through independent third-party sellers and logistics providers.

While we make reasonable efforts to ensure that every order is delivered accurately and in good condition, HappyShelf shall not be liable for:
  • Claims reported after the time limits specified in this Policy.
  • Claims submitted without the mandatory unboxing video where required.
  • Damage caused after successful delivery.
  • Damage resulting from misuse, improper installation, negligence, accidents, or unauthorized repairs.
  • Minor variations in colour, packaging, dimensions, or manufacturer updates that do not affect the intended functionality of the product.
  • Delivery delays caused by courier companies, weather conditions, natural disasters, public holidays, government actions, strikes, transportation disruptions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
  • Incorrect or incomplete shipping information provided by the customer.
Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable Indian law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
